Full Description

B01 Beginner: 95 pages, 229 illustrations, and 16 exercises and projects

Drawing is the integral component of all visual arts, and the primary focus of Drawspace curriculum. The Drawspace philosophy on teaching art is to focus primarily on the enjoyment aspects while gently introducing the technical and academic. Hence, in creating a passion for the subject matter, the quest for knowledge also becomes enjoyable.

The Drawspace visual art program is designed for art educators in schools, art colleges, and universities to replace textbooks or subsidize current curriculum, and is also suitable for recreational art educators, self-directed learners, and homeschooling families.

Curriculum includes new and modified Drawspace lessons, exercises, projects, and illustrations designed to motivate, inspire independent thought, and enhance imagination and creativity.

Note: With minimal modifications (specific to software programs), the Drawspace visual art program is also suitable for educators and students of digital art programs.

If you want to teach (or learn) specific skills, each module in Drawspace Curriculum for Art Educators is self-contained and specific to its topic title. This being said, curriculum modules in the Drawspace program are designed sequentially. Ideally, you should read each curriculum file in order, doing each exercise and project along the way. Each new piece of information, skill, or technique prepares you for the next. When a module is completed, you move on to the next.

This curriculum module is loosely based on the following Drawspace lessons:

  • A01 Illustrated Glossary of Drawing Words and Terms
  • A02 Understanding Talent
  • A03 Buying Drawing Supplies
  • A04 Creating Your Own Drawing Space
  • A05 Making a Portfolio
  • A06 Good Posture First!
  • A07 Making and Using a Viewfinder Frame
  • A08 You’re a Natural!
  • A09 Drawing Curved Lines Naturally
  • C02 Three Families of Lines
