Courses: Where to Start
A quick guide to taking courses at Drawspace!
Step 1: Choose a course
Start by finding a course that interests you. If you have specific questions about a course, you can ask the teacher directly by clicking the "Ask the Teacher" link located on the right-side of every course page.
Step 2: Choose a session
Each course will contain one or more sessions that have different start dates. A session is like a class of students that receive their assignments at the same time. Pick a session with a timeframe that suits you.
Step 3: Enroll
- Make sure you're logged in to your DrawSpace account and click the link to your selected session. You will be asked to register for the session.
- Follow the on-screen payment instructions and you will be brought back to your "My DrawSpace" page where you will see a link to your session under the "Courses" heading. You can use this link to visit your session page whenever you like. You can leave comments, and ask questions but no assignments will be available until your session start date arrives.
Step 4: Session start date
- When your session start date arrives, your first assignment will become available for you to download. It will be in Adobe PDF format, and will be accompanied by detailed instructions from your teacher.
- Download your first assignment and if you prefer to work from a paper copy, simply print it off. Your teacher will be communicating with you continuously throughout the session and will be available to answer any questions you may have.
Step 5: Complete your first assignment
- Follow the instructions in your assignment and scan your finished work.
- You can then upload your finished work on the Assignment page (the same page that you downloaded your assignment from).
- You have the option to make each piece of work that you upload "public". This simply means that you choose to allow other students to see your work. If you leave the "public" box unchecked, only you and your teacher will be able to see your work.
- Try to complete your assignment well in advance of the due date in order to receive prompt feedback from your teacher.
- Check the session page to see when your next assignment will be available.
Step 6: Keep going
Complete each assignment, learn from your feedback, and you will be amazed at the progress you make!
