Very interesting and engaging.
I do have a question, did you draw all of the line work as well or was this something that you printed out and colored? You only mention that you colored it and didn't say anything about how the actual image was created.
Thanks!

Hey,

of course no problem, i can tell you everything, you want to know. The "problem" is my bad english. I don't like to do mistakes, so my text was very short wink.gif

Everything in this picture i made with traditional tools, such like pencil, marker, rubber and sometimes a ruler. I contructed the outlines of the picture with pencil on Sketchpaper. After that i used transperent Layoutpaper and traced all of the lines with a black fineliner (without the ruler) and i contructed all the little details.
Then i colored everthing with my Copic-Markers.

bye

Very good. A maze for the eye! (its "A-maze-ing")

I do find it hard to look at for too long because my eye can't find a place to rest (not necessarily a bad thing). This seems to be part of the intent since you have framed all of these smaller images each of which is easy to take in.

Right now the closest thing to a focal point I find is the large bright rectangle just above and to the left of center -- but its kind of a boring scene - not much detail, split unity. Contrast that to the large dark crisp rectangle in the upper left hand side (the second place my eyes like to focus).

One thing that I really love is how it just pulls your eyes in different directions. Strong pull to the left and right, but also up and down. Too bad the focus is diverted away instead of towards something.

I think for me, since I find the image hard take in as a whole, I might use it as background for Lettering or something else I really wanted to stand out in the center there. A clear sharp image in the center would really grab focus I think.

Hello,

thank you for your replies.

I like to here, that my work amazes you, NichDMax. You are right with the focal point. Originally i wanted to add more detail in the middle of the object. But than i changed my mind. The next project will have a focal point with more details. So thanks a lot for your reply and the really helpful critique in it!

Danke.

Bye
