Hi, I'm also new here and am so happy to find this site. For the past couple of weeks I've been overwhelmed with the information and can't get out of the computer. I finally got over that now... lol...., now am back drawing after a few years away. Thank you!!! wub.gif By the way, I loved this viewfinder idea, I was used to the rectangle box cut-out and think this is way better.

Hi
I'm new here and a complete beginner. I hava a problem with the use of the graph paper and grid lines. You marked the grid onto the photo using ballpoint and a ruler, but don't you also have to mark it onto the drawing paper? If not, how do the grid lines help?
Perhaps I'm being a bit thick.

I didn't know about the viewfinder frame. I suppose I would need extra sets of photos after making a grid of of it. Good tutorial. smile.gif

I was interested in how thick the "l's" are. And the graph paper how it fit in too... I'm just starting off.

in the viewfinder lesson where you drew the portrait, do you want us, when we're beginning to draw a portrait of our own, to create the same graphing lines on the paper we're going to draw on so we can place each part of our portrait together? or do you want us to create an outline of the same size of the lined portrait and draw in the space provided?

I'm still pondering the necessary info for making the grid. The info could have been expressed so all levels could understand. huh.gif

"Resources" section should be at the end - appendix

viewfinder frame is SILLY - not needed

it's better to skip resources as it crushes motivation

in this issue we trying to say that the framework is an adjustable display format in order to examine a drawing of a design object from different viewpoints such as portraits, figures, landscapes, other issues that one can use this method but using your a ruler, paper clip, scissors, glue, so that part is good for you not descuadre and you can do with any of these frameworks as a viewer want.

I enjoyed this lesson. It gave me more confidence when drawing faces from pics. I've got an idea though.....maybe instead of drawing the graph lines across my pics I will draw one set of lines on a transparent sheet of plastic to be laid over my pics thus saving myself time and extra pictures. I draw/paint for a living and do custom orders from pictures. Time is important to me for this reason, the more time I save on work related art the more time I gain for doing the artwork I enjoy.
Thank you for some great ideas! I love it here!

I liked this lesson. It's just like the zoom on a camera when you take a picture. I will have to remember to make some when I get going with my drawings. Thanks!

So far, your site is really inspiring me to keep at it. And I haven't even picked up a pencil yet! Thank you so much!
