Well if it is an image file and not a flash movie or something, it is a false feeling of security. If you view a picture on your pc it is ON your PC. You may not be able to right click the file, but you can look in your temp internet directory tree and find the image. Once found you can do whatever you want with it.
It's like door locks, "they only keep out honest people"
The best protection of your work is to keep in a locked closet .. of course no one will ever see it..

There are also other ways of "Stealing" images. One is to enlarge the image and hit "printscreen" on your keyboard and then open certain paint and photo programs that allow you to paste from your clipboard. This works for most any image except for some move files.

So, my point is there is little in the way of protection except for only posting small images.

If I were in the need to protect what I post, I would use the copy write option and I would add a water mark to my uploads. This seems to be the most effective way to prevent misuse like unauthorized prints or commercial use.

You can add a watermark with your photo editing software.
