Without seeing the real person or the photo I am only guessing with this statement, but I would think there would be a lot more skin texture and possible surface defects that have been left out. Nothing wrong with doing this, it give the impression of youth and I am sure the subject would be happy about that! Your contrast is great, highlights are clean and crisp, great detail in the eye glasses and mustache. Fade out to background is well executed over all a wonderful job
Now that I type it and look again, it could just be the sharp difference between the detail levels of the mustache/glass and lack of skin texture that is bothering me. In the end, very few people will ever look at this drawing up close. It will hang on the wall and be viewed from a reasonable viewing distance and will be constantly mistaken for a photo! Job well done!
